The Concerto boot has been designed for high-end performance ice skating. Edea have used all their experience and know-how to produce a boot that combines modern technology with the traditional look. The extra strength means it is often the choice for male skaters or pairs who require the extra support needed for high jumps. Our boots are designed with lightness in mind making them more responsive. The lightness helps skaters with their touch and feel on the ice giving them the confidence to perform. Our designers have used traditional leather but with innovative thinking to give skaters extra support and strength in their boot. Edea have increased the slant of the foot bed. This shortens the reaction time as the foot is already in position allowing the skater to be more fluid in their movements as they prepare for jumps. The unique insole made with fiberglass and nylon allows more power transmission and increases the stability. It also allows for the thickness of the sole to be reduced thus lowering the center of gravity and giving the skater even greater control, stability, and feel of the ice. The unique heel design adds further stability. The curve on the heel increases weight distribution, allowing the heel to be in contact with over half the insole giving the skater a sense of oneness with the ice. The increased control and sensitivity combines to allow the skater to perform the most technical routines and moves. The anatomical shape, lightness and greater flexibility of EDEA boots means more time can be spent performing and less time breaking in the boots. The memory foam adds to the comfort and reduces the breaking in period. Double stitching provides the boots with extra strength across the lacing area ensuring greater accuracy and feel in lacing. Concerto has EDEA’s patented hooks and hook position meaning the laces can hold the boots without the need to strangle the leg. A lace puller will make getting on the ice quicker and help keep the boots pristine by making unlacing easier so the tongue can sit properly when the boots are not in use. EDEA’s unique dual density sole technology means ice chatter is virtually removed and vibrations are reduced allowing the skater to concentrate on what they are doing rather than what the ice feels like. With the lower profile of the design because of the thin sole we’ve added an extra couple of millimeters of room for the toes for added comfort. The Concerto is padded with our top of the range microfiber fabric offering comfort and support. There is additional padding at the ankle for comfort and to hold the heel in place more firmly giving a better foot position. Extra padding on the back cuff helps protect the Achilles tendon while increasing the range of movement. This allows the skater to point the their toes adding elegance to the performance. The microfiber lining and inside padding are perforated for added ventilation, allowing the outer shell and inner lining to dry quickly when not in use. All EDEA skates are designed around the foot with curves and strength to hold the heel in place, to support the foot and give the best fit and maximum comfort. This means the skates are more responsive to power giving the skater both increased acceleration and control. The tongue is key in any boot. In the Concerto the tongue is the strongest in our range, giving the increased support required by skaters at this top level. Its anatomical shape helps the leg bend in jumps while additional padding increases the comfort. Additional tongue tabs also help to control the tongue position giving the boot a better fit.
