Similar to the highly popular Petzl Microtraxion, the Edelrid Spoc is designed with a small, high efficiency, aluminium ball bearing directional pulley and a retractable toothed ca m for progress capture. Suited to improvised crevasse rescue scenarios, hauling or as a lightweight rope ascender for emergencies needing self rescue.At 20 mm, the Spoc is more compact than most other complex pulleys and all other backstops on the market. On top of this, the Spoc is said to be as much as 92% more efficient than all other similar devices. It’s also considerably lighter than the competition; at only 60g when compared to the 85g Petzl device. The cam can be fixed open to allow use as a simple pulley and when required moved/positioned by a small cable, making it easy to use with gloves.
