Edwards SIGA-CT1 — a Signature Series intelligent analog-addressable single input module that connects one Class B normally-open alarm, supervisory or monitor dry-contact initiating device circuit to a Signature loop. The module gathers analog information from the initiating devices wired to it and converts it into digital signals; its on-board microprocessor analyzes the signal and decides whether to input an alarm. What the module actually does is set by a “personality code” the installer selects and the Signature loop controller downloads during system configuration — the same hardware serves as a latching alarm input, a retarded waterflow input, a non-latching monitor point, or a latching supervisory point. The SIGA-CT1 mounts to a standard North American 1-gang box, which makes it the right choice for remote locations where only one module is needed. Specifications Type code 48 (factory set); four sub-types (personality codes) available Address requirements Uses one module address Operating voltage 15.2 to 19.95 VDC (19 VDC nominal) Operating current Standby 250 µA; activated 400 µA Operating environment 32°F to 120°F (0°C to 49°C) Storage environment -4°F to 140°F (-20°C to 60°C); humidity 0 to 93% RH Construction High impact engineering polymer Mounting North American 2-1/2 in. (64 mm) deep 1-gang boxes, and 1-1/2 in. (38 mm) deep 4 in. square boxes with 1-gang covers and SIGA-MP mounting plates LED operation On-board green LED flashes when polled; on-board red LED flashes when in alarm/active Initiating circuit wire resistance 50 ohms per circuit maximum (25 ohms per wire) Initiating circuit wire capacitance 0.1 µF per circuit maximum Maximum distance to EOLR (design reference) 4,000 ft (1,219 m) Compatibility Use with Signature Loop Controller; EST3, EST3X and iO Series control panels Agency listings UL, ULC, MEA (S3424), CSFM (7300-1657:0121) Ship weight 0.4 lb (0.15 kg) Installation notes One personality code only: a single code can be assigned to the SIGA-CT1. Mixing codes across two circuits is a SIGA-CT2 / SIGA-MCT2 capability, not a CT1 one. Choosing the code: 1 = normally-open alarm, latching (pull stations, heat detectors). 2 = normally-open alarm, delayed latching — alarm is sent after the contact is closed for approximately 16 seconds, intended for waterflow alarm switches. 3 = normally-open active, non-latching (fans, dampers, doors). 4 = normally-open active, latching (supervisory and tamper switches). Will not support 2-wire smoke detectors. The data sheet states this explicitly for these input modules. End-of-line resistor: the wiring diagram calls for a 47k ohm EOL resistor on the initiating device circuit. Circuit limits: maximum 25 ohms resistance per wire, 0.1 µF capacitance per circuit, and maximum 10 VDC at 350 µA on the initiating circuit. All wiring is supervised and power-limited. Wire size, with a caveat: terminals take #18 AWG (0.75 mm²) through #12 AWG (2.5 mm²), with #16 and #18 AWG preferred for ease of installation. Note that the data sheet’s own design-reference table lists #12 AWG as 1.50 mm², which contradicts the 2.5 mm² figure given for #12 AWG elsewhere in the same document; 2.5 mm² is the value stated in both the Installation section and the specification notes. No switches or dials: addressing is electronic. Addresses are downloaded from the loop controller, a PC, or the SIGA-PRO Signature Program/Service Tool. Ground fault detection is by address, down to device level. Power dependency: the module will not operate without electrical power. Related models SIGA-CT2 — dual input version: two circuits, two module addresses, and personality codes 1 through 4 may be mixed between circuit A and circuit B. SIGA-CT1HT — the high-temperature single input module, rated 32°F to 158°F (0°C to 70°C) for attic installation and monitoring high-temperature heat detectors. SIGA-MCT2 — functionally identical to the SIGA-CT2 but built as a plug-in UIO module for two- or six-position UIO motherboards, with wiring landed on the motherboard. SIGA-MB4 — mounting bracket that allows two 1-gang modules in a 2-gang box.
