The Eggbutt cheek piece prevents pinching of the lips and gives a solid feel against the side of the face. It also prevents the bit being pulled through the mouth. The release is slower than the loose ring and also introduces light poll pressure. Eggbutts, like loose rings are available in 2 sizes, standard and a slightly smaller model for a pony or a bridoon. Please contact us if you would like the smaller option, as all orders come with the regular size as standard..This cheekpiece takes up rein pressure slightly quicker than a loose ring but releases it relatively slower. The net effect of this is that eggbutt can even out some inconsistencies in rein contact, and offer the horse a feeling of stability and comfort. Many horses enjoy this feeling of stability, and it can also be helpful for novice or younger riders. As with all Bomber products, more variations are available, and customs designs can be made to order.
