Angle of Entry: Install the sensor at an angle that prevents moisture/condensation from collecting inside the bung, which can lead to probe corrosion over time. Sealing Note: Never use PTFE tape or plastic sealants on EGT mounts. Exhaust temperatures will vaporize these materials instantly. The mechanical compression of the olive provides all necessary sealing. Tightening: Once the depth is set and the nut is tightened, the probe is permanently "locked" in that olive. To change depth later, a new olive and nut are typically required.
