Egon Eiermann created the prototype of the Eiermann1 for his office in 1953. The students at his university soon adopted it for their living quarters, and could easily expand the surface area by removing the tabletop and replacing it with a dorm room door. The Eiermann2 frame is a dining table version of the original design. It is light and stable due to its simple construction, and has been produced by Richard Lampert in Stuttgart according to Eiermann's specifications. Table tops sit atop the frame using soft rubber dubs, making it easy to change.
