Size: 40 x 60 Artist: David Evans Avoiding the visually expected, the viewer is aided to see surroundings in a different and richly rewarding manner. (b 1941) Evans was born in New Mexico and grew up in a small town in Texas, and was not introduced to fine art until he went to university. He became a nationally known ceramicist before beginning his career as a painter in 1991. His paintings are abstract with large gestural strokes and rich color loosely resembling the landscape. Evans works intuitively making no sketches or plans until he opens his palette and begins to paint. His paintings are how he expresses himself and his reaction to the world around him. Show more
