This lovely necklace of brightly colored faience ring beads, is re-strung with flat backed pendants from a broad collar; a durable version of the elaborate perishable floral collar s worn by banquet guests. Here, nine white pendants with their shaded yellow tops and mauve tips representing the white lotus, alternate with eight blue faience pendants. Such growing plants were inherently symbolic of new life, but some flowers also open each morning, reconfirming the idea of resurrection.
