Use a centering jig or the Alpha Drill Bit Guide/Water Delivery System to prevent the bit from skating on the glaze. Chuck the 3/8" shank into a standard 3/8" or larger drill. To run on a water-fed polisher, thread the CH1058 adapter onto the 5/8"-11 spindle first. Apply a steady stream of cool water at the cutting point throughout drilling — these bits are wet use only. Start at an angle to break the glaze, then bring the bit upright once it has bitten in. Keep RPM at or below 3,500. Use light, even pressure and lift the bit every few seconds to flush slurry and re-cool the diamond. Slow down as you break through the back face to avoid chipping. Rinse the bit clean after each hole.
