Shanxi, circa 1890 This simple, beautifully proportioned table was produced towards the end of the nineteenth century in Shanxi province. It features two deep drawers with simple ring handles and a lower shelf that's ideal today for displaying ornaments or for storing magazines or books. The top surface and drawer fronts have a wonderful patina, with the original dark finish largely worn to show the natural, wide grained elm wood, weathered over time and with a unique character formed over decades. Ideal as a compact console or side table, with a rustic aesthetic that would add warmth and charm to any space. NB.
