Egeria densa, also known as Elodea densa, is one of the most widely kept oxygenating plants in the aquarium and pond hobby. Its dense whorls of bright green leaves arranged along long, branching stems make it an immediately recognisable and highly effective background plant for both tropical and coldwater set-ups.It is extremely easy to grow, thriving under low to medium light without CO2 injection. Its rapid growth makes it an excellent nutrient absorber, helping to keep water quality stable in new aquariums and tanks with heavier fish loads. Trimming regularly encourages dense, bushy regrowth from each cutting.Supplied as two bunches, Egeria densa is best planted in groups at the back of the aquarium or left to float as surface cover. Its fast growth and tolerance of a wide range of water conditions make it one of the most reliable and beginner-friendly aquarium plants available.
