This setup adds side stability without significantly raising swingweight, which is key since elongated paddles already start higher. Keeping more mass closer to the handle improves net speed and hand battles. This is my go-to starting point for most elongated paddles and a setup you’ll see a lot of pro players use. What you’ll need: Two 3g strips (cut from 0.5g-per-inch tape) Overgrip Placement: Start each strip just above the grip Let it cover the throat, bottom corners, and run up the sides This adds stability by giving you a small sweet spot boost while improving maneuverability at the net. Because the weight sits below the balance point, it keeps swingweight increases minimal. What it changes: Increases swingweight by ~1.3 points Boosts twistweight by ~0.35 points Fine Tuning: If it feels too heavy, add a 9g Cap Coin to the base of the handle If it feels too light, slide the weight up about two inches Small adjustments make a big difference. Finish it off with an overgrip to keep your handle fresh and dialed in.
