The Vision Behind Channex|Studio Elysia designed the Channex|Studio to deliver superior audio quality from the outset of any recording session, ensuring that mixing becomes an easier and more efficient process. With its “mix-ready” audio signal, the Channex|Studio serves as the ultimate recording front-end. Its all-analogue sound processing is paired with advanced recall capabilities, both through hardware and a compatible plugin for seamless integration into DAW workflows. This device exemplifies the future of professional audio hardware by blending the warmth and authenticity of analogue sound with modern usability. High-End Preamplifier for Pristine Audio At the heart of the Channex|Studio is a high-end DC-coupled microphone preamplifier, providing up to 65 dB of gain to handle even the most demanding microphones. Elysia’s Shell Precision Metering ensures precise input level monitoring, while the adjustable high-pass filter eliminates unwanted low frequencies at the source. Users can easily switch polarity with a press of a button, and the preamp also includes +48V phantom power for condenser microphones. Instrument inputs on the front panel and an XLR/TRS combo socket on the rear allow for effortless integration with various devices, whether line-level or high-impedance sources. Dynamic Equalisation for Total Control The four-band dynamic equaliser in the Channex|Studio offers unmatched flexibility for sound shaping. It includes low, two midrange, and high-frequency bands, each adjustable for frequency, gain, and Q factor. The intuitive design, enhanced by Elysia Shell’s display, allows quick configuration of shelf filters for low and high bands. The dynamic equalisation feature, a rarity in hardware, dynamically adjusts frequency bands independently of input levels, ensuring precise control. Intelligent gain functionality refines these dynamic adjustments, while the Shell Precision Metering provides real-time visual feedback of equalisation activity and intensity. Simplified Compression with Advanced Features The Channex|Studio compressor provides an intuitive interface that simplifies compression settings without sacrificing professional-grade performance. Users can set the threshold, adjust attack and release via a timing control, and fine-tune levels with make-up gain. Elysia’s Shell Precision Metering displays gain reduction at a glance, making adjustments quick and effective. The device also features a gain reduction limiter, ensuring that louder audio sections retain their natural dynamics by preventing over-compression beyond the set threshold. Add Unique Colour with the Flavour Section To create a distinctive sound signature, the Channex|Studio offers a flavour section with five unique colouring options. These options allow users to achieve anything from vintage warmth to contemporary clarity. Each flavour can be adjusted across five intensity levels, providing a nuanced way to shape the audio signal. A bypass button lets users compare coloured and uncoloured signals instantly, offering unparalleled versatility for tonal experimentation. Precision Monitoring and Total Recall The Channex|Studio includes a zero-latency monitoring section, ensuring seamless playback during recording sessions. Full recall capability extends both to the hardware unit and the compatible plugin, making it simple to integrate with digital workflows. This combination of analogue warmth and digital convenience sets a new standard for professional audio equipment.
