An eclectic design with a mixture of animals and objects sitting upon jewel-toned backgrounds.Elysium is a cabinet of curiosities growing on stems. Flowers open to reveal a brass compass and a clock face; a squirrel in a top hat sits in a teacup; a frog in spectacles plays a cello; a bird in its own top hat perches above a pair of dice. Scattered between them are a cupcake, a lollipop, a cherry, a padlock and key, a pea pod, a peacock feather, a candle flame, toadstools, butterflies, a hummingbird and a flying fish. Nothing in it behaves as it should.Mulberry is the deepest and most theatrical of the four. The plum ground makes the whole design read as a jewel box, and it is the one where the ground stops being a background and becomes part of the design.A wall people walk up to. Everything in it rewards a second look and most of it rewards a third — for anyone who would rather a room started a conversation than matched one.Elysium is an offset match with a 64cm pattern repeat, printed on a non-woven substrate: you paste the wall rather than the paper, which makes it quicker to hang and strippable when you remove it. Also available in Gold, Green and Plaster.
