Hopefully, it will be back on the market at some stage, but it will not be this calendar year (2021). Turf Culture was aware of the pending Embargo molecule shortages in early 2017 and started the development of Spartan Herbicide. Spartan Herbicide is the perfect alternative to Embargo Herbicide. Spartan’s active constituent is PRODIAMINE. PRODIAMINE is a member of the same chemical family as Embargo (ORYZALIN), the Dinitroaniline family. Hence Embargo & Spartan share the same Mode of Action, which is the way they work and provide pre-emergent weed control. Spartan will give you the same reliable pre-emergent control as Embargo, with longer weed control options.
