Cutting Comparison This is a cutting speed comparison between the original Emblaser 5watt laser unit and the new 10W laser unit. Features Finer Detail The 10W laser unit features a finer laser beam. This creates double the amount of detail and offers more control when shading and engraving. Smaller Kerf Size Kerf is the width of material that the laser removes while cutting. The 10W laser unit has a kerf less than half the width of the original 5W laser. Easy Cleaning You no longer need to remove the lens for cleaning. Darkly Labs have redesigned the lens mechanism and it now features a removable quartz cap that protects the lens from debris and makes cleaning a breeze. You will no longer need to touch the lens; this will extend its life and keep the lens performance optimal. Plug & Play Easily swap out your old 5W laser unit with the new 10W laser unit using the included tools and mounting brackets. Emblaser 10W Laser Unit Upgrade Manual IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION All Emblaser Core Owners Emblaser Core customers using the 10watt laser unit must upgrade their protective eyewear to the higher rated Laser Pair OD7+ to prevent potential eye injury. Emblaser 2 Owners Emblaser 2 Serial Number after E2-02910 Emblaser 2 machines with serial numbers higher than E2-02910 already contain the revised OD7+ rated lid. These machines can accommodate the 10watt laser unit with no changes. Emblaser 2 Serial Number before E2-02910 Emblaser 2 machines with serial numbers lower than E2-02910 need to order and install a revised lid (OD7+ rating) in order to maintain a ‘Class 1’ laser rating and prevent potential eye injury when using the 10W laser module.
