A grey wolf, face on The whole patch is one wolf head, looking straight out at you. The stitching follows the direction the fur grows: it sweeps outward from the muzzle, drops down through the cheek ruff and rises into the dark ear tips. Because the threads lie at different angles, light catches them differently and the tawny browns and warm greys shift as the patch moves. Cream fills the muzzle and the two pale arcs beneath the eyes. Black marks the brow, the nose and the lip line, the ear tips are dark with paler inner ears, and the eyes are a pale amber. The outer edge is cut to the ragged line of the ruff rather than a tidy circle or square, with a soft off white border, which is why the fur still reads as fur from across a room.
