“No matter how dedicated I am to my artistic endeavors, and no matter how experienced I become with my photographic equipment, ultimately my art can only be as beautiful as the moments I’m privileged to witness. “This morning was one that I’ll never forget. The emerald waters of the Gulf were merging with Philips Inlet (Lake Powell) in Inlet Beach, Florida, and the colors were absolutely stunning. “The white-sand beaches were as sugar-white as ever. “The light was somehow—impossibly—strong and simultaneously soft thanks to the wispiest of clouds acting as a perfect filter. Perfect light never lasts, however, so I had only seconds to memorialize this moment forever. “All of these elements would have offered me a wondrous opportunity, yet, they were all surpassed by the beautifully carved ripples in the sand beneath the surface. “I’m quite fond of how I was able to capture all of the color and light from this moment, without sacrificing any of the emotion or ambiance of the scene. I’m confident you will be, too.”
