The EMG 25K Solid Tone (Solderless) Pot is a genuine EMG 25K solid-shaft tone potentiometer for use with EMG active pickup systems. The 25K resistance is the correct low-impedance load for EMG's on-board active preamps: the internal buffer of an EMG active pickup expects to see a low-impedance load on its output stage, and a passive-value 250K pot in this position would leave the preamp under-loaded and the resulting circuit prone to gain and frequency-response irregularities across the sweep. It plugs directly onto the EMG solderless harness through a keyed connector, with no soldering required. The solid-shaft format is intended for set-screw knobs (Gretsch-style barrels, Fender radio-dial knobs, and any knob with a set-screw grub rather than a push-on split-shaft grip), and sits alongside the two 25K Split pots (Tone and Volume) as the set-screw-knob counterpart to the split-shaft range. Standard shaft length for slab-body guitars where the control cavity is machined to depth for a short shaft (Strat, Tele, ESP-format flat-tops). For carved-top or semi-hollow bodies (Les Paul, PRS, ES-format) the Longshaft split pot is the correct fit. Audio taper for a smooth tone sweep across the working range rather than the abrupt cliff of a linear taper. The 25K Solid Tone sits on the EMG active pot shelf next to the 25K Solid Volume (its matched solid-shaft partner) and the wider 25K Split family. Distributed and supported in the UK by Selectron.
