The EMG BQC System is the full installation kit version of the BQC three-band sweepable-mid active EQ, packaged with all of the wiring components needed to fit the module into an active EMG system. The kit contains the bass, mid, treble and sweep pots and the EQ circuit board, plus the solderless quick-connect harness, output jack and battery connector configured for use with EMG's active and X-Series pickup ranges. A single 9V battery powers the entire chain. The System version saves the player or builder from sourcing the wiring kit separately, dropping straight into a guitar set up for a quick-connect EMG harness. The Active and X wiring presupposes that the pickups feeding the EQ are EMG active or X-Series designs sending the relatively low-impedance line-level signal those circuits produce. Players running passive HZ pickups should look at the BQC-HZ System sibling instead, which carries the additional load resistor network HZ pickups need to sit happily in front of an active EQ stage. Best suited to a full rewire of an active EMG-equipped instrument where the BQC's sweepable mid is the goal and the player wants every part of the chain in one box rather than mixing a Control module with separate harness components. Pairs naturally with HSS or HH Strat-format builds running SAX/SAX/89X or 81X/85X, or with a Les Paul-format build running the 81X/60AX combination.
