The EMG BTS-HZ System is the HZ-compatible version of the BTS two-band bass-voiced active EQ, supplied as a full installation kit with the wiring layout configured to feed the EQ from either passive HZ bass pickups or active EMG bass pickups. The kit contains the bass and treble pots, the EQ circuit board, the solderless quick-connect harness with the HZ-compatible input network, the output jack and the battery connector. A single 9V battery powers the EQ; the HZ pickups themselves remain passive. The HZ designation marks out the same difference seen across the BQC-HZ and BTC-HZ siblings. EMG's passive HZ pickups produce a higher-impedance signal than the active and X-Series ranges, so the EQ stage needs an input network that loads the HZ coils correctly without dulling the top end or letting the noise floor rise. The BTS-HZ harness adds that loading network and routes the signal so the two-band bass-voiced shelving EQ sees the right source impedance regardless of which pickup type sits in front of it. Best suited to bass builds running EMG HZ passive soapbars where the player wants straightforward onboard bass and treble shaping without going to a full three-band design, or to mixed builds combining a passive HZ pickup at one position with an active EMG at another. Pairs naturally with the 35HZ, 40HZ and 45HZ passive bass soapbar range. Sits alongside the BTC-HZ as the bass-voiced sister to the guitar-voiced two-band shelving EQ, with the fully-featured BQC-HZ sweepable-mid three-band above both. Complete installation kit included.
