Terse Verse Insight: On the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35), two of Jesus' followers unknowingly walked with Him after His resurrection. As they traveled the miles, Jesus took them through the scripture explaining all of the fulfilled prophecies. They only recognized Him after he left them, but they realized their hearts had been burning within them throughout the journey. Emmaus means 'the burning place'.
