Acts as an O/W emulsifier. It is a non-ethoxylated phosphate emulsifier based on vegetable and mineral raw materials. Allows the preparation of homogeneous, stable, light skin care and sun care emulsions. It is an analogue of the natural phospholipids in the skin (e.g. lecithin) and provides a smooth and soft skin feel. Possesses good solubility and emulsifying ability with both polar and non-polar oils. Can be used over a wide pH range (4-9), but preferably at the acidic pH level of the skin and easily be added either to the oil phase or the aqueous phase of the emulsion. Works well for formulations containing water soluble sun screen filters and micronized pigments. Provides excellent stability and skin feel even for sun care emulsions with very high sun protection factors (50+). Ethylene oxide- & cetyl chloride-free. Recommended for manufacturing emulsions with a high oil content.
