We’ll arrange everything for you. Installation Guide (Simplified & Professional) For best results, encaustic tiles should be installed by an experienced professional. Surface Preparation Ensure the substrate is perfectly level, clean, and completely dry. Never install onto fresh or damp concrete, as moisture can cause white salt deposits. Laying the Tiles Apply adhesive using a fine‑tooth comb and butter the back of each tile. Lay tiles by hand only — do not use a hammer or mallet. Maintain a minimal joint of 1–2 mm for a clean, refined finish. Align patterns carefully, as encaustic tiles cannot be polished down after installation. Cleaning After Installation Once the adhesive is dry, wash the surface with plenty of clean water to remove pigment dust. Treatment & Sealing (Fila Recommended) We recommend Fila MP90 Eco Xtreme for sealing and protecting your tiles. Before Grouting Apply an impregnating sealant with a soft cloth or brush. Allow two hours between coats. Buff gently with a lint‑free cloth to remove excess. Sealer becomes fully resistant after three days. Grouting Always seal tiles before grouting to prevent pigment staining. Use non‑dyed grout only. Fill joints with a spatula and remove excess immediately with a damp cloth. Avoid acidic or corrosive cleaners at all times.
