Published on occasion of the exhibition by the same name in 2000, Enclosed and Enchanted brings together key works by contemporary artists such as Cristina Iglesias, Jean-Marc Bust amante, Antony Gormley and Takahiko Iimura. The works invite various readings of the garden, both real and imagined - as architecture, as the manifestation of psychological and physical desires and fears, or as a means to frame a conceptual view of the world. Enclosed and Enchanted pursues these issues through contemporary work linked with historical examples. The catalogue includes essays by Curator Michael Tarantino and Director Kerry Brougher.
