Enclosure is the central image in my three-piece Boundaries series and was photographed from a wider perspective than Open Circuit. Here you can begin to understand a little more a bout what you're looking at. The incomplete square is still there, sitting almost alone in that extraordinary expanse of orange, but the wider view reveals the edge of the salt evaporation pond running across the bottom of the frame. I really like what that extra information does. The first image is almost pure abstraction. With Enclosure, the landscape starts to reveal itself, but not completely. The colour is still what grabs me—the intensity of that orange is impossible to ignore—but now there are two very different types of boundaries within the same image. One is the small geometric form in the centre; the other is the strong horizontal division across the landscape itself. Enclosure is the central work in my Boundaries series, exploring the lines, divisions and geometric forms that become so striking when the landscape is viewed from above. Interior Design Suggestions Enclosure is bold, minimal and highly graphic. The intense orange works beautifully against charcoal, black, warm white, concrete, stone and natural timber. The dark line across the bottom gives the artwork additional weight and makes it particularly suited to contemporary interiors. I think this is an image that deserves scale. The amount of open orange space is part of the composition, and printing it large would emphasise that beautifully rather than making the central shape feel small. It would work particularly well in a contemporary living room, entrance, office, boardroom or commercial space. But I think its strongest presentation would be together with the other two works from Boundaries. These images are telling a visual story through changes in perspective, and that becomes much more apparent when they are seen as a group.
