WiseSeal® End-Grain Sealant is a water-based sealer specifically designed to protect the freshly cut ends of boards. Because end cuts of decking and lumber dry out faster than the center, they are more prone to developing unsightly end checks (drying splits) that can quickly spread. These cuts also expose the material to the elements, making them vulnerable to water intrusion, which can lead to swelling, mold, mildew, warping, and cupping. WiseSeal® has been proven to enhance the structural integrity of hardwoods, thermally modified wood, softwoods, pressure-treated (PT) lumber, and composite materials. Paintable & Stainable! Ideal for protecting decking, siding/cladding, railings, steps, log ends, turning blanks, and other exposed end grains, WiseSeal® provides long-lasting protection for both inventory and on-site materials. This eco-friendly, durable, water-based formula forms a flexible, breathable barrier at the cellular level, giving wood exceptional protection. After 24 hours, the product can be painted or stained for a finished look.
