Scale: Unknown. Working model of the steam engine used on the 'Hebe' (1871) made entirely of metal and mounted on a turned wooden base. The engine consists of two cylinders mounted high up on A frames and is complete with a crankshaft, engine bed and a three-bladed propeller which overhangs the circular base. The engine bed is mounted on a small section of hull plating and on the other side of the engine is a large rectangular condenser together with a series of six smaller cylinders which in turn operate valves and levers on the main engine. The whole model has been mounted on a circular gilded metal disc on top of the wooden base.J. & G. Thomson
