Course Description+ English 2 complements the Social Studies Department's World History class by exploring universal themes evident in pieces from world literature. Students are exposed to a selection of great classics from the ancients to the twentieth century, concentrating on the most renowned works from every culture and genre. Students will study vocabulary, grammar, and composition to construct a variety of written and oral pieces. The required research paper and speech assignments provide practice in research methods and documentation, MLA compliance, self-expression, and organization skills.Prerequisite: Successful completion of previous grade level EnglishThis 6-week course is offered for first time credit, for credit grade replacement, or for non-credit enrichment in preparation for taking the course in the future. Please check with your school regarding credit from outside institutions.
