We use Scan-Speak tweeters matched with Volt Loudspeaker subwoofers. Although excellent performance with tube amplifiers is absolutely achievable, Entrant is voiced around fast, high‑current solid‑state amplification—prioritizing speed, grip, and timing. Much like the challenger we were able to achieve a minimalist crossover without overlapping. We avoid the negatives associated with lower order crossovers with precise driver matching to utilize natural roll-off frequencies. The cabinet is finely tuned to produce impactful bass without coloring sound. They excel in dynamic and intense sound reproduction making them particularly versatile for dense recordings. They remain neutral—delivering detailed imaging and clarity without tipping into an overly analytical balance. These speakers are revealing yet sing with audiophile recordings and a range of well produced non-audiophile recordings. FLAC music also shines on the Entrant even if it wasn't recorded and mastered to the highest standards—and actually Spotify's collection although lower quality than Qobuz has a deeper selection of lossless music that can be truly felt and enjoyed with the Entrant I. Recommended amplification is 10–150 W/channel. If using electronics that support an external regulated power supply (e.g., Naim), that upgrade can improve composure on peaks. Feed these speakers well-recorded FLAC files, CD's or vinyl, and you'll hear why audiophiles spend as much time curating their music collection as their equipment. They'll reveal the difference between a great recording and a mediocre one—and you'll start seeking out the great ones. They are Live on Stage!
