DESIGNER EPIC 3See it. Place it. Create it at an epic scale. The DESIGNER EPIC 3 is a flagship sewing and embroidery studio built around visual confidence. Projection previews sewing and embroidery on the actual fabric, hoop scanning brings the hooped project onto the screen, and an enormous creative platform turns ambitious quilts, garments and dimensional embroidery into a guided workflow. Sewing and embroidery projection helps preview placement, guidelines, grids and stitch position directly on the project. Hoop scanning plus precise positioning makes it easier to see the real fabric and align large or multi-hooped designs. 912 built-in embroidery designs and 871 stitches provide exceptional creative range before adding anything from outside the machine. 10.1-inch capacitive colour screen displays editing tools, guidance and designs at high resolution with a 180-degree viewing angle. Integrated Dual Feed and 310mm sewing space make this a serious premium sewing and quilting machine—not embroidery-only equipment. Four hoops and 12 presser feet included create a substantial starting package for embroidery, garments, quilting and specialty work. Contact Direct Sewing Frequently asked questionsHUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER EPIC 3 FAQs What kind of machine is the DESIGNER EPIC 3?It is HUSQVARNA VIKING's flagship computerised sewing and embroidery machine. It combines large-format embroidery, projection, hoop scanning and advanced on-screen editing with 871 sewing stitches, Integrated Dual Feed and 310mm of sewing space. What is the largest embroidery area? The largest available embroidery area is up to 450 × 450mm when using the optional Mega Turnable Hoop. That hoop is not part of the standard included package. The largest included hoop is the DESIGNER Regal Hoop at 465 × 260mm. Which embroidery hoops are included?Four hoops are included: the 465 × 260mm DESIGNER Regal Hoop, 360 × 200mm DESIGNER Royal Hoop II, 240 × 150mm DESIGNER Jewel Hoop II and 120 × 120mm DESIGNER Splendid Square Hoop II, plus the hoop adapter. How does embroidery projection help?Projection displays the design position on the hooped fabric so you can assess general placement and support alignment between hoopings. Exact Positioning then provides finer point-to-point control. What is sewing projection?Sewing projection can display the selected stitch, adjustable grids and angled guidelines directly in the sewing area. This helps align seams, decorative stitching, quilting and repeated placement before sewing. What is hoop scanning? The built-in camera captures the hooped project and displays the fabric image on screen. You can then position embroidery against real motifs, seams or reference points and preview colour relationships more confidently. Does it recognise presser feet?Yes. Its AI feature can recognise the included presser feet, indicate whether the selected foot is compatible with the stitch and warn when it is attached incorrectly. How many designs and stitches are built in?It includes 912 embroidery designs and 871 sewing stitches. The machine also provides embroidery fonts, six programmable sewing fonts, Stitch Creator, design shaping and appliqué-creation tools. Can it embroider sleeves and bags?Yes, when fitted with the optional DESIGNER EPIC 3 Free-Arm Hoop. The 100 × 150mm accessory allows tubular projects such as sleeves, trouser legs, bags and small garments to pass around the free arm without opening a seam. Is the reversible Special Techniques Hoop included? No. The optional Special Techniques Hoop is required to combine reverse-side techniques such as felting or bobbin work with conventional embroidery without unhooping. Do not assume it is included unless a current promotion explicitly lists it. Can it embroider ribbon, beads or yarn automatically? The machine supports the appropriate optional DESIGNER Embellishment and ribbon-embroidery attachments. These accessories guide suitable ribbon, beads or yarn while the machine stitches, but they are not standard included items. Is it also suitable for quilting?Yes. It offers 310mm of space to the right of the needle, Integrated Dual Feed, 37 needle positions, three free-motion modes, projected guidelines and included quarter-inch, Sensor Q and darning feet. Does it have an automatic needle threader?Yes. Place the upper thread through the specified threading path and activate the automatic needle-threader button as described in the manual. Does it cut jump stitches?Yes. The selective automatic thread cutter includes automatic jump-stitch trimming for suitable embroidery designs and settings. Can it wind a bobbin while sewing or embroidering?Yes. A separate bobbin-winding motor allows bobbin winding while the machine continues sewing or embroidering when the setup and thread path are appropriate. Does CREATIVATE require a subscription?Core machine operation and the built-in designs do not require a paid subscription. Some connected library, software or premium ecosystem content may require an account or subscription. Offers and plan names can change, so check the current CREATIVATE terms. How large and heavy is the machine? The machine body is approximately 628 × 275 × 362mm and approximately 15kg. The embroidery unit is approximately 8kg. Allow additional clear table area for the unit, hoop and moving project. Should I arrange a demonstration before buying?Yes. A demonstration lets you experience the screen, projection, camera, hoop connection, embroidery workflow and sewing controls, and helps confirm the machine suits your space and projects.
