Part of the Inspired by Gibson Collection, the Epiphone SG Standard has been updated and it plays and sounds better than ever. The SG has been a favorite across styles for decades. From Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Eric Clapton, and George Harrison to Robbie Krieger, Angus Young, Tony Iommi, and many more, it’s a guitar that shows up wherever great music is made. Built around a contoured, double cutaway mahogany body, the SG Standard gives you easy access to all 22 frets. A glued in mahogany neck helps deliver the sustain the model is known for. The neck has a fast SlimTaper C profile and a bound rosewood fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and pearloid trapezoid inlays. A 12 inch fretboard radius keeps first position chords comfortable and helps bends stay smooth without fretting out. For dependable tuning and solid intonation, it’s fitted with Grover Rotomatic tuners and a Graph Tech nut. Hardware includes an Epiphone LockTone Tune O Matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece, both fully adjustable to dial in your setup. Electronics are handled by a pair of Epiphone ProBucker humbuckers for vintage style SG tones with plenty of bite and warmth. A ProBucker 2 sits in the neck position, with a slightly hotter ProBucker 3 in the bridge. Each pickup gets its own volume and tone control, plus a three way toggle so you can run neck, bridge, or blend both to taste. The Epiphone SG Standard looks the part, delivers the goods, and comes with a premium gig bag to keep it protected on the go.
