Epiphone T-Bird Gothic, made in Korea 2006, blacker than the blackest black times infinity. I like this, it's got a bit of emo-kid swagger. Gibson's Gothic series has popped up a few times since the mid 90s, and they're always fun. It's matte black, with black hardware, a single 'XII' inlay at the twelfth fret and a spooky celtic cross on the guard... lots of black, but I'm into it. These Korean made Epiphones often feel great, and this is no exception: it's lightweight, well balanced, tightly made and naturally resonant. It's a bolt-on build, but just quietly: I reckon it feels better than the neck-though ones, as the angles are a bit more intuitive, the weighting is more even and it seems a bit less fragile. The sound is mean and juicy: thick and swampy, heaps of low mids, nice little grind on the top, great with dirt. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, scuffs and rub wear on the back only. The back has dimples in the middle of the body and the elbow area, as well as rub wear around most of the body. The sides have minor scuffs and dimples around the whole body. The front has some dimples and rub wear in the elbow area, rub wear around the top of the neck pickup and some play wear on the guard and horns.Overall: Good Condition (7/10)Playing Condition Notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works.
