Epping Forest keeps its oldest pollards close together along the same ridge, each one carrying its own crown of growth, gold deepening to amber where the canopy thins enough to let the light all the way down. This rug holds that same gathering: three radiating forms fused along one continuous, scalloped edge, ivory-grey ribs fanning from separate off-centre points across a shared field of honey and ochre, no two caps quite matching the one beside it. Hand-tufted by the weavers of Jaipur, the wool is carved into raised relief, two distinct pile heights doing all the work a second yarn would otherwise carry. Given the fused, irregular outline, sizing here is bespoke rather than standard. Beneath a Georgian cornice or bare concrete, it holds a room the way old pollards hold a clearing.
