Equal Exchange sources from small farmer organizations because they believe they are the heart and soul of the Fair Trade movement.This bar is made with cacao (cocoa beans) from farmer co-operatives in the Dominican Republic, Peru and Togo. The sugar and vanilla are also fairly traded and organic. The raw cane sugar comes from co-operatives in Paraguay, the unrefined whole cane sugar comes from a co-operative in Costa Rica, and the vanilla from cooperatives in Madagascar.
