The tabletop and seat pads are elm. The table and chair frames are made from beech. We have restored this charming Ercol dining suite by stripping back the previous dark stain to reveal the lighter tones of the elm grain underneath. A clear matt lacquer has been applied to give a long-lasting and appealing finish. One of the chairs was a carver that had had the arms removed to make the set of four, and this can be seen in the pictures.
