No matter who you give them to, they'll remember that they are loved — by you, by your community, and by God. This simple yet important message is perfect to put on your water bottle, laptop, guitar case, or anywhere else you need that daily reminder. The text is surrounded by a rainbow of colors: a reminder of God's love and inspired by this Pride Flag redesign by designer Daniel Quasar. The traditional rainbow colors represent the LGBTQ community. The addition of the black and brown stripes are meant to represent the black and brown members of the LGBTQ community, and the light blue, light pink, and white colors specifically represent the transgender community. Please note that our translation of You Are Loved as Eres Amad@ is not a typo or a mistake. One of Illustrated Ministry's values is to use inclusive language, which is tricky with a gendered language like Spanish. After talking with some Spanish-speakers familiar with issues surrounding inclusion and language, and doing our research, we learned of a few different ways to communicate the phrase "You Are Loved" in a more inclusive way. Rather than just defaulting to the masculine conjugation of "to love" - amado - we chose “amad@.” The at-sign (@), is often used by progressive Spanish-speakers who are finding more inclusive approaches to a traditionally gendered language. Based on our "Eres Amad@" Backpack Tag design, we had the design printed on premium quality vinyl stickers. They work great for both indoor/outdoor uses and are even dishwasher safe making them great to decorate water bottles (we have tested this through several loads ourselves but we cannot guarantee the longevity of the sticker through every dishwasher).
