Borgo delle Tovaglie has been hand-making linens in a Bologna atelier since 2005, run today by Valentina Muggia and Giuliano Di Paolo. The cloth reads in the chintz tradition - the large-scale, dense floral that came to Europe from India in the seventeenth century and reshaped what a European table and room could look like. Borgo Delle Tovaglie's Erica is in that lineage: a ground covered in stylised blooms and foliage, finished at the edge with two parallel bands of openwork in a contrasting tone - a small piece of needlework lightening what would otherwise be a heavy edge. Offered in several colourways: a charcoal ground with rust florals, a deep petrol blue with ochre, a quieter cream with pale gold. Show more
