Warmly crafted vocal work from Erik Tagg – a Dutch singer who'd relocated to Texas by the time of this mid 70s set – singing here in English with some nicely jazzy backings on the set! There's a style here that's a bit singer/songwriter, but somewhat deeper too – one that has a nicely smooth glide, and a slight undercurrent of soul at times – particularly in the Free Soul mode, and all the bright colors and good feelings that reference might imply! Tagg's lyrics are decent, but the real appeal of the set is the overall sound – the blend of his well-produced vocals with the heavy keyboards in the instrumentation – often served up with a smooth and groovy quality that reminds us of much bigger-name sets from the LA scene of the time.
