This castle was built in 1891 in a Flemish renaissance style. This building made of red bricks stands in a large park surrounded by greenery. It was used as a holiday camp, a hotel and more recently rented to a company as an airsoft playground and was in the process of being resold a few years ago. I visited in 2016 thinking I’d come across issues with the airsoft company but it was completely empty and still. There was a lot of decay and parquet flooring had been pulled up. I loved the red theme throughout and the light coming in through the staircase made for an atmospheric shot.
