Cléo has been Esterlin's flagship since the 2010 vintage, succeeding the former Elsévia. The 2012 edition continues with a blend of 34% Chardonnay and 66% Pinot Meunier, a Meunier-dominant Blanc de Blancs that challenges the conventional definition of the style. No malolactic fermentation. Aged 10+ years on lees. Named after the Egyptian queen and the brand's Egyptian architectural heritage in Épernay. The house with the Palladian-style building on the Avenue de Champagne, vinifying champagne as no grande maison would dare. Tasting notes: A wine of great delicacy and maturity. The oak ageing adds richness and aromatic complexity, coffee, moka and toasted notes alongside the fresh citrus and yellow fruit of the Chardonnay.
