This painting is called “Eternally Free”. It’s of a view that I saw when I hiked to a pinnacle in the Blue Ridge Mountains near my home. I was so inspired by the playful, undulating clouds. They felt light and free and the mountains felt eternal and endless. All these qualities together remind me of the human soul at its best - free, joyful, and eternal. It resonated very deeply for me. It is also a love letter to the Blue Ridge Mountains and all the people who live there. Since we went through the Hurricane Helene disaster, I feel closer to everyone who lived through it with me. When I painted this, I wanted everyone who is recovering to know that deep down, our spirits are still as light and free as those clouds. This original painting is 24" x 48" acrylic on stretched canvas.
