The wedding knot is a fair trade product handmade in Kenya. It is hand carved out of one piece of soapstone, sanded until smooth, polished, and then dyed black. The two loops of th e wedding knot stand for a couple that has become joined through marriage, but remain two individual people. The sculpture is given to a couple on their wedding day with a blessing: May the union last as long as the stone from which the sculpture is carved. Show more
