Listed as Endangered in its native Western Australian range, this weeping to pendulous small tree or mallee develops the most ornamentally distinctive stem character of any eucalyptus: the branchlets, flower buds and capsules are covered in a brilliant waxy silvery-white powder (the 'caesia' = grey-blue colouring), while the pendant clusters of large, deep rose-pink to crimson urn-shaped flowers with prominent yellow anthers create one of the most spectacular flowering displays in the genus.
