Botanical Name: Oenothera biennis Botany and Origins: The evening primrose is a tall, spiky plant that blooms only in the evening, hence its common name. The North American Indian medicine men were the first to recognise its potential as a healing agent and used to brew the seed pods to make an infusion for healing wounds.
