Evo 1 to 9 Where the pinion bracket holds the front of the differential, these bushings carry the support bracket behind it, so between them they decide whether the diff stays still or rocks in the subframe. Once they have gone soft, the housing moves against the body under acceleration and braking, driveshaft angles change with it and you feel the slack as a delay before drive actually reaches the road. Firmer bushings here make the rear axle feel connected rather than rubbery.
