ARP2000 head stud kit — cylinder head clamping, 7-bolt 4G63T The 4G63T leaves the factory with torque-to-yield head bolts, which are designed to stretch permanently as they are tightened. Once boost goes past standard they no longer hold enough clamping load, the head lifts a fraction off the block on the power stroke, and the head gasket goes — the classic way a modified 4G63 ends its weekend. These studs thread into the block by hand and are clamped by a nut on top, so the load is set precisely and spread evenly around every cylinder. On an Evo 1/2/3 this is the fastener most owners fit before they turn boost up, and unlike the OE bolts it comes back out and goes back in the next time the head comes off.
