The proprietary welded assembly eliminates loose hardware and water ingress common to all other aluminum masts. The highly engineered extrusion is lighter than most solid carbon offerings, and results in a mast that is only 1lb/0.5kg heavier than Cedrus hollow carbon masts. Anodized fade-free gold and with light laser-etched graphics, the mast requires minimal care and maintenance. Haptic Feedback: We have found through months of testing that certain foils can produce acoustic and haptic feedback when paired with Evolution Aluminum. Due to the thin walls, high stiffness, and hollow channel that does not fill with water, the mast can whistle or hum at specific frequencies with certain foils. We have learned to appreciate this feedback, as it is due to vibrating foils and can be mitigated by changing ride height, angle to weather, speed, or wing loading.
