This unlikely kinship informs the idea of the “exotic native”, something both deeply rooted and geographically displaced. “As an immigrant to New Zealand, I identify with the idea of the ‘exoticnative’. My sculptural practice focuses on drawing attention to NewZealand’s unique forests.
