About the 4 Panel Stable Oak Door The four-panel stable design carries glazing apertures in the upper section to draw plenty of daylight into your home, over solid panels below. Made from only the finest timber, the oak shows deep, rich browns alongside amber and golden tones that bind around its knots, giving every door its own personality. It suits country properties and cottages, and looks just as good on a more contemporary home. Solid oak construction Like all our solid oak external doors, the 4 Panel Stable is built around a solid oak outer frame joined with the strongest traditional mortice and tenon joints, with the four-panel layout set within it. At 44mm thick and solid oak throughout, not a veneer over a core, you can feel the quality, and every door is unique. It is supplied sanded but unfinished, ready to seal in a finish that suits your home. Glazing The glass is not supplied; instead the stable top is machined to accept a double-glazing unit, so you choose the glass to suit your home. The glazing aperture is approximately 339 x 294mm, which we recommend using as a guide for quotation only, confirm the exact size once your door arrives. Stable door features Open just the top half for light and air while keeping the lower half closed, or swing both together as a standard door. Every stable door comes with a 1" rebate as standard and is identical on both faces, so you can choose to hang it opening inwards or outwards. Sizes The door is 44mm thick and made in standard sizes, with bespoke made-to-measure sizes available, just contact our sales team. Finishing & Care Made from solid oak, these doors are best fitted in a sheltered spot, under a porch or canopy, rather than in areas fully exposed to direct rain or hot sun. As they're supplied unfinished, protect yours with a treatment made for external use; we recommend the Impranol range for external doors. Oak Weather Bar We also supply an Oak Weatherbar to match the door, which will be required should the door be "open to the elements".
